1. Walk Through a Real Samurai Defense System
Although Sakura Castle no longer has a main tower, the massive dry moats (karabori) and earthworks built to fend off enemies remain perfectly intact.
Walking through the wooded paths, you can physically experience how the samurai defended their stronghold in this precious historical spot.
2. Stunning Seasonal Scenery (Cherry Blossoms & Iris)
In spring (late March to early April), the park transforms into one of Chiba Prefecture’s premier cherry blossom viewing spots, boasting over 1,000 trees of 50 varieties.
In June, beautiful irises bloom, making it a perfect location for photographing Japan’s seasonal nature.
3. Access from Samurai Houses & Time Required
The park is just a 10-15 minute walk from the Sakura Samurai Houses. The grounds are spacious, so we recommend allocating 1 to 1.5 hours for a relaxing stroll.
It is also highly recommended to spend half a day immersing yourself in Japanese history by visiting the adjacent National Museum of Japanese History.
